Customer Overview

Henry, a newly coffee shop owner wants a delivery app for his new business. He wants an app that was designed to ensure customer safety by providing order tracking and delivery driver and vehicle information for additional safety.

Problem

Creating this prototype had loads of trial and error. The design process was filled with hours of practice, which included multiple different drafts. Since this was a group project, there was much communication regarding what formatting, colors, and photos fit best with the overall app. Another issue we encountered was the prototyping of the app. We recognized that every button must have a connection in order to work smoothly.

User Testing

In order to gain feedback, we interviewed four avid coffee drinkers. We sent them our prototype link and received critical feedback that helped us with our final product. Whether the feedback is positive or negative, it helps benefit the structure of the design and lets designers know the needs and wants of their target audience. This is also the phase where many usability issues are found and corrected through trial and error.

Solution

When creating the design, attention to detail was key. I had to put myself in the position of the user and the coffee shop owner. Which layout makes it easier for the user? What colors stand out? What features are necessary for a successful coffee shop? As I answered these questions, I was able to make progress. As for the prototyping, it was a lot of connecting the slides and reviewing any possible situation that may occur with the user. The feedback we received also gave us more insight from different perspectives and implemented it into our final design.
